1. What social media platforms are the best for your target audience?
Considering the best marketing channels for your target audience is crucial to making sure you reach the right consumers. For instance, according to Statista as of April 2019 only 13% of people worldwide over the age of 45 use Instagram. So, if you’re targeting people over the age of 45 then Instagram may not be the most effective. Each social media platform has a different purpose and targets different people:
a. Instagram is a great platform to share photos, especially behind-the-scenes content, which is very useful to engage your audience and encourage them to learn more about your business
b. Twitter is a place to see what’s happening and humanise your brand by posting relevant tweets that coincide with your brand image and create a voice for your brand
c. LinkedIn is useful for businesses and professionals to connect, meaning you can recruit and find talent easily or even collaborate with other businesses
d. Facebook can help increase traffic to your website through targeted Facebook ads and is a great platform to provide customer support as customers can easily get in contact with you on Facebook Messenger. The main goal is for consumers to recognise your brand which then gains credibility. For instance, on Instagram everything is very visual so have a set colour theme for your grid and story highlights icons and use the same filter when editing photos to create a seamless visual experience.

Hashtags are a great way to create a surge amongst social media and creating your own brand hashtag is even better. Competitions are also a good way to increase brand awareness and offer customers with a chance to win a prize. So it’s a win win for everyone.
4. Get influencers and bloggers on board.
Nowadays consumers are looking to influencers and bloggers to tell them what products are worth purchasing and what’s not. People are more willing to buy a product that has been tried and tested by others, receiving a more personal and real-life review. Thanks to social media it’s not that hard to get into contact with bloggers and influencers. You could send them a message directly or send some samples of your collection to their PO box with details about your brand and ask them to create an outfit post tagging your company and writing an honest (but positive) review.
5. Engage with your target audience on a regular basis.
